In 1500 the town of Galatina had an important economical increase and the economical activities had become so flourishing (in particular the tanning of hides), thus to attract the umbrian-tuscan financiers Earls Nicola and Cosimo Baldi who built Palazzo Baldi.

The Palazzo Baldi Hotel residence has 8 suites and 4 rooms well-appointed with period-furniture and hand-made articles of the local artistic craftsmen. It covers four palaces built from the XVI to the XIX century, exalting the typical architectonic elements of the Salento.

You can admire, still intact, the narrow lodging of the servant, who with a bell announced the arrival of a guest; the well from which the water was drawn from the layer on which Palazzo Baldi and the entire centre of Galatina are based; you will revive with your fantasy, discovering the ancient secret stairs, the hasty love flights after a night in the alcoves of the Earls.

Going from the suites to the halls, from the sunny terraces to the citrus trees in bloom, from the peace and the harmony of the architectonic structures to the artistic works and the hand-made articles of the local artistic craftsmen, we have the impression to pass through four centuries of History as in an enchanting dream, suspended between the East and the West.
